Function:
Folic acid is a member of water soluble vitamin B group, which is correlated with different reactions occured inside our body, including single-carbon metabolic reaction, synthesis of purine, DNA and RNA. It also maintain cell division and increase the number of cells. 
Folic acid can prevent congenital abnormalities of spine in uterus who is having cell differentiation at its highest peak. Therefore, female should consume enough folic acid everyday at early pregnancy state.
